The long-awaited Outer Ring Road (ORR) project is finally getting off the ground. This massive 25,000 crore rupee project is set to transform the capital region’s infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is leading the charge on this 189 km ring road that will connect five districts. They’ve recently reached out to district collectors in Krishna, NTR, Eluru, Guntur, and Palnadu to kickstart the land acquisition process. This move comes after the central government gave its initial approval for the project, breathing new life into a plan that was put on hold in 2019.<\/p>\n
“We’re aiming to begin construction within a year,” an official said, highlighting the project’s renewed momentum.<\/p>\n
The project has seen some changes since its initial conception. The cost has been revised to 25,000 crores, up from 17,761 crores in 2018. In a significant boost, the central government has now committed to funding the entire project, including land acquisition. Additionally, RV Associates is back on board to finalize the alignment and detailed project report.<\/p>\n
The return of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has played a crucial role in revitalizing the ORR project. After facing delays since 2019, the initiative is now moving at full speed.<\/p>\n
The final alignment and detailed project report approval are expected soon. Land acquisition will begin immediately after the central government’s green light. The NHAI aims to complete 80-90% of land acquisition before issuing tenders. “The faster we acquire land, the sooner construction can begin,” an NHAI official explained.<\/p>\n
The Amaravati Outer Ring Road will be a crucial link for the capital region, boosting connectivity and economic growth across five districts. This transformative project is set to reshape Andhra Pradesh’s capital area, promising exciting developments for residents and businesses alike.<\/p>\n
