While the demonetization entered the third week, the deadlock continued on the fifth day too in the Parliament and the opposition intensified the political fight protesting at Gandhi statue near parliament. On its part, the BJP decried alleged \u201cmalicious\u201d attempts by those opposing the drive to provoke violence and chaos.<\/p>\n
The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day. House first adjourned briefly with the opposition members continued to raise slogans and trooped into the well of the House demanding suspension of the Question Hour to discuss demonetization issue. <\/p>\n
Intervening, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar condemned the attitude of the opposition members belonging to Congress, TMC and CPI-M who came to the well of the House. <\/p>\n
After the first adjournment, Speaker allowed ministers to place papers on the table of the house amidst the agitating members continued to shout slogans showing placards. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present when the House was witnessing uproarious scene.<\/p>\n
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 PM with Opposition Congress members repeatedly trooping into the well of the House demanding Prime Minister\u2019s presence during debate on demonitization of high value currency notes. The House witnessed noisy scenes on the issue and it could not consider the Question Hour.<\/p>\n
Anand Sharma of the Congress alleged that government has created financial anarchy in the country by demonetisation. Mayawati of BSP said the situation in the country is grim and the absence of Prime Minister in the House is an insult to democracy.<\/p>\n
The major parties which participated in the protest at Mahatma Gandhi statue are Congress, BSP, JD(U), TMC, AIADMK, NCP, Left, RJD and the Samajwadi Party. MPs shouted slogans and displayed posters against demonetization. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi alleged that Finance Minister and Chief Economic Advisor were not even consulted by Prime Minister before considering the decision.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
