The main opposition party YSR Congress MLAs, probably for the first time meeting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu later today at 4 PM, at later\u2019s camp office. This appointment was confirmed by the CM\u2019s office few hours ago, after MLAs threatened that they would proceed to CM\u2019s camp office seeking an appointment.<\/p>\n
According to Macharla MLA P Ramakrishan Reddy they have been waiting since a fortnight seeking an appointment. But failed to get any response from CM\u2019s office. The MLAs planning to discuss on the discretion being shown by the officials with regard to opposition MLAs on the spending of Constituency Development Fund and also protocol problems.<\/p>\n
Opposition MLAs have been accusing since a long that in the constituencies represented by them defeated TDP candidates only enjoying `official status\u2019 and the officials are respecting their directions, ignoring the presence of MLAs. \u201cEven we are not getting information for official programmes\u201d, Reddy said.<\/p>\n
The state government is providing Rs 1 crore every year for each MLA towards Assembly Constituency Development Fund (ACDF). Under this fund, the officials need to carry works as per the recommendations of respective MLAs.<\/p>\n
As over 40 per cent MLAs hails from the opposition, Chief Minister proposed to scrap this fund in last year\u2019s budget. However, the move was withdrawn due to pressures from ruling party MLAs. The neighboring Telangana Chief Minister K Chadnrasekhara Rao has increased this fund 50 per cent, making it Rs 1.5 crore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
