The newly elected YCP government is all set to take a fresh look at the projects involving huge expenditures. The earlier TDP government initiated the grand Amaravati capital city project with plans for construction of multi-storeyed skyscrapers for Assembly, Secretariat and High Court. The YCP leaders are saying that the capital city will not be shifted nor disturbed but the expenditure on buildings would be rationalised.
About 33,000 acres were mobilised under land pooling scheme from the Capital city farmers by the TDP government. The YCP government would not be able to disturb the land pooling scheme nor it can return the land taken from the farmers. YCP has all along been saying that the TDP government has taken lands more than needed from the farmers.
According to original plans, Capital city is to have iconic towers surrounding by green spaces and avenues. These constructions would take massive funds mobilisation. The YCP leaders are of the view that their main thrust would be on implementing Navaratnalu schemes to improve the lot of poor people and farmers.
