In a heated exchange, PCC President YS Sharmila launched a strong attack against MP Vijayasai Reddy and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Her statements focused on the investigation of YSR’s death and ongoing family political disputes.
The confrontation began when Sharmila questioned Vijayasai Reddy’s loyalty to Jagan Mohan Reddy. She challenged him to swear that he wasn’t reading from Jagan’s script and asked if he could deny that YSR had mandated equal distribution of assets among all four children.
“You too have drunk from Jagan Mohan Reddy’s palm,” Sharmila declared, pointing out that Vijayasai Reddy and others had benefited both politically and financially from their association with Jagan. She questioned their inaction during their five years in power, asking why they failed to investigate YSR’s death if they truly believed Chandrababu was responsible.
Sharmila strongly defended the Congress party’s relationship with YSR, emphasizing that he had brought the party to power twice. She firmly stated that Congress was not responsible for YSR’s death, using the metaphor “No one kills their golden goose.”
Addressing the investigation controversy, Sharmila raised pointed questions about the government’s failure to conduct a proper inquiry. She highlighted that it was Jagan who had added YSR’s name to the charge sheet after his death, suggesting potential political motivations behind these actions.
The PCC President also addressed the recent controversy surrounding Chandrababu Naidu’s wedding invitation. She clarified that while she has no personal relationship with Chandrababu, she had followed YSR’s tradition of inviting him to family weddings. She criticized those who tried to create controversy even from her choice of attire at the wedding.
“Jagan is still obsessed with Chandrababu,” Sharmila stated, suggesting that her brother sees Chandrababu’s reflection even when looking in the mirror. She concluded by asserting that YSR’s child would never need to work to impress Chandrababu or follow his branding.
