YSR Congress, which waits at the drop of the hat for an opportunity to attack the Telugu Desam Party, faltered on Saturday by circulating a photograph with its version of N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh’s conversation with Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chinnarajappa.
What could have come as a shot in the arm was abused by some overenthusiastic social media bleaters of the YSR Congress.
How Sakshi and it’s accomplice Greatandhra resort to slander…
Lokesh seemed ignorant of the processes of ascendancy of a member to higher ranks in the TDP organization structure. Well, even if he is ignorant, there is nothing wrong. For, it can be construed as an effort of a young leader trying to pick up threads with the party procedures. This was proven by the video released by the TDP.
The TDP and the YSRC have always exaggerated each other’s failures and follies and always spewed venom.
However, this party meeting on organization committees where Lokesh’s doubts were clarified by the Deputy Chief Minister has been publicised as an occasion where Lokesh showed disrespect for an elderly leader.
The abuse of the photograph with faulty interpretation by mischievous party workers is understandable. What proved to be in bad taste was the endorsement of the same by senior functionaries of YSRC like Botcha Satyanarayana and Ambati Rambabu.
The Government Whip Koona Ravikumar was reasoning with Lokesh on the ascendancy of a village committee member into next levels at the meeting. Lokesh had a doubt on the veracity of the process explained by Ravikumar.
The matter is purely limited to the internal structure of the party organisation and the meet was intended to be internal. If Lokesh is trying to understand the way in which the organisation is built, surely the Deputy Chief Minister had clariified his doubt, by endorsing the line taken by Ravikumar.
The effort of the YSR Congress cadres in interpreting the “disrespect” demonstrated by Lokesh to N Chinna Rajappa fell flat on their face. Scoring self-goals on trivial issues is suicidal at this stage for the main opposition.
Not that Mr Lokesh Naidu Nara, the National General Secratary of the TDP, is a virtuoso and an encyclopaedia, but YSRC depicting him in poor light is like the proverbial kettle calling the pot black when it comes to knowledge.
Why should YSRC shed crocodile tears for Chinnarajappa, who has never been friendly with them? The Deputy Chief Minister is a hardcore TDP leader for over three decades. And, even if TDP leadership had actually insulted its own leader, it must be treated as an internal matter as it was not a public forum.
Now, YSRC, please, give us a break. If you have any grace and courage, please withdraw the unsavoury comments. You can ignore the same too, but your party is the main Opposition in Andhra Pradesh. Please bear that in mind.
