YSR Congress today expressed hope that chief minister Chanrababu Naidu’s name would certainly come out in the future batches of Panama Papers revelations.
Reacting on world’s biggest leakage of information about the people who committed fraud on their nations to escape tax laws, the opposition party said Naidu’s countless foreign tours and one-on-one interactions with the foreign companies point to something suspicious in his activities.
The party welcomed the centre’s decision to order a probe into the names appeared in Panama Papers for stashing away huge amounts of unaccounted money in tax havens.
Lauding Prime Minister Modi’s response to the unprecedented racket, party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said her party firmly believes that Chandrababu Naidu’s name would also come out in the course of investigation.
“Chandrababu Naidu’s name is bound to figure as the documents obtained by investigative journalists of the German newspaper and International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) goes back to 1977 and covers till December 2015. This time span covers proliferation of tax havens of the individuals, Trusts and Corporates that had involved in money laundering,” she said.
” Long back, Tehelka described Chandrababu Naidu as the richest Chief Minister in the country and has business interests abroad. Now, his frequent trips to Singapore, Malaysia, Davos and other countries confirm that his financial interests lie elsewhere,” she said.
“The way Singapore companies have been allowed in the capital area development also indicate his foreign connections and the money he has been spending on luring MLAs in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh speak of the hidden funds, which will come out in course of investigation,” she said.
