YSR Congress has dared the TDP government for an open debate on the irregularities in the land allotment by chief minister Naidu’s administration. The party has also demanded the government to convene at least a special session of Assembly to discuss the illegal allotment of land causing hundreds of crore loss to the exchequer.
‘The Chandrababu Naidu government has allotted large extent of land across the state to a favored few at throwaway price and has issued over 700 confidential GOs which is unprecedented,” party MLA G Srikanth Reddy said on Monday and demanded that the Government should come forward for an open debate or convene assembly session to discuss this issue and fix responsibility.
He asked the state government to state as to why more than 700 Government Orders had been kept out of bounds for public. The ridiculed the government’s claim of transparency in the administration.
“The state government has allotted 50 acres of land in north coastal Andhra which cost Rs 10 crore per acre at a throwaway price of Rs 50 lakh per acre. Similarly in Amaravati capital area region it has given about 490 acres of land to a relative of N Balakrishna, Hindupur MLA, at the rate of Rs 1 lakh per acre while the actual price is Rs 50 lakh. In Rayalseema region as well the government has allotted 22 acres of land at Rs 22 lakh per acre while the actual cost is Rs 4 crore per acre. The nepotism is out in the open and we demand an open debate on the issue,” Srikanth Reddy challenged.
