YSR Congress has said that the videos released by the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly were not identical and demanded that the entire media should be privy to cover the Assembly proceedings.
‘The leaked clippings of assembly doing the rounds in the social media are different from those presented to YSRCP by the speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and the Speaker had no explanation on the duality of the footage,’ party MLA G Srikanth Reddy told media here on Monday.
The party said in the footage available in social media our MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy was in his casual dress while in the actual session he was on deeksha and was wearing a different dress, he said.
“While even a small slip of tongue from our side was blown out of proportion, the severe abuse and repeated use of unparliamentary language from the treasury benches was allowed to go on air. There was no objection from the Chair and the abuse enjoyed sanction of the House,” Srikanth Reddy said.
“The video clippings released were very selective and intended to show only our MLAs in poor light and it looked a deliberate attempt. We had to rush to the podium to ensure that the mike was given to the Leader of Opposition, which was being denied. We demand that the entire media should be allowed to cover the assembly proceedings and the practice of limiting this to one or two favored media houses be discontinued ,” he said.
