Telugu Desam party is trying to turn the tables on Opposition party in the Call Money case by releasing the names of call money operators who have political connections. While the Opposition YSR Congress has demanded a probe into the Call Money racket by a sitting High Court Judge, state Information and Public Relations minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said majority of the political leaders arrested in the Call Money case belonged to YSR Congress party. Sharing the details with media on Wednesday Reddy said of the 83 people arrested by the police in the raids conducted across the state, 27 members were from YSR Congress. Only 6 belonged to the Telugu Desam party three were from CPI, the minister said. According to the minister 44 were non-political money-lenders. He dismissed the YSRC charge that the ruling party encouraging the Call Money culture in Vijayawada.
Probe by retired High Court Judge
The Andhra Pradesh government in principle has decided to appoint a retired judge to inquire into the Call Money racket and the charges of sexual harassment by the operators of call money. The issue had come up for discussion in the Cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu today. The cabinet thoroughly discussed the issue and decided to get it thoroughly probed. Similarly, the issue of deaths caused by adulterated liquor sold by Swarna Bar in Vijayawada also figured prominently in the discussions. briefing the details to media after the cabinet meeting finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said government would suitably reply the debate in the House on these issues. He said there was a possibility of extending the House till the end of the month from the scheduled five days. Ramakrishnudu said the business advisory committee which will meet tomorrow morning , will take a final decision on the matter.
