In a surprise development, the YSR Congress has decided against contesting the GHMC Polls. Instead the party will concentrate on strengthening the organization in Hyderabad and rest of Telangana. Party’s Telangana unit president Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced this on Wednesday afternoon.
The justification for deciding not to contest the polls is like this: all contesting parties are spending money in the elections like water. The TDP, the ruling party of Andhra Pradesh, is amassing wealth in Andhra Pradesh and spending it in GHMC elections. The BJP is backed by the central party which is the leader NDA government. And as for Congress, this is drawing strength from its government in Karnataka. Finally, the TRS is ruling party in Telangana. All these parties are ready to go to any extent in spending money to win GHMC elections. YSRC has no money at all to spend in elections.
So, the party asked the supporters and workers of YSR Congress to start working for strengthening of the party till such time it gets enough strength to contest the polls.
T-YSRC president Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said YSRC would not be participating in the GHMC election slated on February 2,2016
