The YSR Congress, which is losing MLAs to TDP in swift succession, said it would soon expose the opportunism of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and the YSRC MLAs, who defected to ruling Telugu Desam Party.
The party said the defection of a few MLA and MLCs had not affected the party’s resolve to fight the TDP government and its nefarious acts.
” We will soon force the state to take steps to separate chalk from the cheese,” the party senior MLA G Srikanth Reddy said on Tuesday.
‘Four or five legislators deserting the YSRC will not affect our resolve and our morale remains intact to take on the ruling TDP. We will place truth on the floor of the house to show the defectors their right place,’ Reddy told reporters here on Tuesday.
Reddy alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had been using the ill-gotten money to buy the MLAs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. ” His plot had got fizzled out and liaison-man was caught red-handed in Telangana. To divert the people’s attention from the Telangana ignominy, Chandrababau Naidu has been engineering defections in Andhra Pradesh with allurements,” Reddy said.
“These defections have enhanced our motivation levels. We will expose the corrupt practices of the TDP government,” he said and added that that the defectors should seek fresh mandate failing which they would ensure their disqualification as per the provisions of anti-defection law.
Reddy wondered as to how Chandrababu Naidu boasts of his character and credibility while encouraging such unscrupulous activities of defections. This, he said, shows the dual personality of his conduct.
