While almost all the opposition parties are coming together to take Narendra Modi’s government unitedly making it responsible for the chaotic situations created following demonetization, the principle opposition party in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party making a different tone pointing its fingers against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
It may be recalled even Modi’s allies like Shiva Sena are not hesitating to shake hands with opposition in pointing out public discontent and Chandrababu Naidu also daily listing problems being faced by the public. He observed yesterday that “in my entire political career this is the first time I am seeing a crisis that remained unresolved for such a long period. It’s painful that the crisis caused by demonetisation persisted even after 12 days. I am feeling impatient but it’s commendable that the people are so patient.”
But surprisingly till now, YSRCP didn’t attacked Modi seriously for this mess, but demanding that Chandrababu Naidu should own up the responsibility on the chaos arising out of demonetization or pull out from the NDA coalition instead of giving bland statements to appease the people.
Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said today that as TDP continues to be part of the NDA Chandrababu Naidu or his cabinet colleagues have no moral right to speak on the issue unless effective steps are taken to mitigate the suffering of people.
Moreover, he accused that TDP’s criticism of the Centre would cut no ice as it is a partner of the coalition and has to own up responsibility for causing hardship to people unless it takes stern measures and prevails upon the Centre to work out ways to provide relief to the people who are passing through a tough time in wake of the demonetization.
