YSR Congress Party is known for using social media extensively to campaign against the ruling Telugu Desham Party. With the entry of the political strategist, the campaign on social media reached new heights. A slew of allegedly fake accounts appeared viciously campaigning against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday.They were trying to trend #MukhyaKanthriCBN on 8August2017 around 6:00pm. The digital army follows non-stop tweets, retweets, likes and scathing attacks.

Look at screengrabs and notice that almost all the profiles had same retweets and updates within seconds.

Organised trolling by fake accounts has become a trend with political parties. Most of these handles were created in January or in mid2016. These accounts have been previously used to run anti-BJP campaign. There handles if viewed individually do not seem fake, but on close observation the tweets and retweets do raise suspicion.

YSRCP seemingly hired spammers to run social media campaigns against the ruling party. Followers attacking a politician is an old practice which is now spring its wings to social media as well in this day.
