YSR Congress Party MLAs, who met the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, at his camp office in Vijayawada were disappointed with his indifferent attitude. After making futile attempts several times, for the first time in two and half years they succeeded in getting an appointment with him.
After meeting the chief minister former minister Dr P Ramachandra Reddy stating that the meeting was `disappointed’, he said that the chief minister even not extended formal courtesies being showed for legislators and firmly indicated that no funds would be spared for opposition MLAs.
Over 40 MLAs marched to CM’s camp office on foot from state guest house and mainly questioned why Assembly Constituency Development (ACD) funds are not releasing to opposition MLAs. Moreover, they strongly objected that the government issuing GOs for releasing of such funds in the name of TDP leaders, who were defeated in last polls.
Reddy accused that not a single rupee was released for MLAs, Zilla Parishad Chairpersons and ZPTCs, belonging to opposition. “We urged him ACD funds should not be treated as TDP Development fund, but funds released as per constitutional norms”, he said.
Uppuleti Kalpana said that parallel government is running the governance by giving funds to the losing leaders of the ruling party instead of allotting funds for the constituencies with opposition party MLAs.
MLAs also urged chief minister to take up some relief measure on behalf of the state government to the cash starving public due to demonetization. The measures they urged include postponement of collecting electricity, water bills and house taxes; supply of ration and gas cylinders on loan, payment of pensions in Rs 100 notes denomination and avoid any disturbances to the students of private/government institutions and welfare hostels.
