Gudivada One Town Police arrested Inturi Ravikiran from Visakhapatnam on Monday (October 21) for allegedly posting offensive content on social media against AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Education Minister Lokesh. The court later granted him bail.
The arrest came following a complaint filed by TDP Social Media Convenor Asileti Nirmala on August 17. According to police officials, Ravikiran was initially detained in Visakhapatnam on August 31, where he was served with a notice under Section 41 CrPC, as confirmed by One Town CI Kondapalli Srinivas.
The court granted bail to Ravikiran on two sureties and a cash bond of Rs. 10,000.
In her complaint to the Gudivada One Town Police, Nirmala alleged that Ravikiran created and shared offensive cartoons and morphed photos of the political leaders on X (formerly Twitter). She stated that the accused created derogatory cartoons targeting the leaders, used inappropriate language in his posts, and morphed photos in an insulting manner that demeaned the dignity of the political figures.
AP former minister Perni Nani and ex-MLA Kaile Anil Kumar visited YSRCP party worker Ravikiran. Their visit prompted immediate protests from Jana Sena party leaders, highlighting the political sensitivities surrounding the case.
