YSR Congress opposed the proposed education-tour of MLAs by speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.
Party’s deputy leader in Andhra Pradesh Assembly Jyothula Nehru said such tours were unwarranted when the state was facing financial stress.
Nehru said speaker was planning to take all the MLA on a three-day tour.
He also opposed the idea of holding monsoon session of Assembly for only five days. When the so many issues were tormenting the people of the state, a five-days session was not adequate.
” We demand the speaker and the government to make the monsoon session run at least for 20 days, then only we could debate these issues meaningfully,” he added.
YSR Congress, which scored over the ruling party these days because of problems the ruling party confronted in the past two or three months, wants longer session. To corner the TDP and attack chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, YSRC wants to raise the issues like cash-for-vote scam, telephone tapping, special category status, Pushkhara stampede, drought, capital construction, investment of Singapore and Japan in Capital development, state coal scam etc.
