Sakshi paper has been a mouthpiece for YSRCP and played a key role in YSRCP victory in elections. There are several illustrations that show what will be the fate of a political party if there is no media support to that party. Sakshi has supported YSRCP at each and every stage and exposed wrongdoings of the ruling party as well as the government.
Despite all this, actually Sakshi was going through a lean phase before elections and there was even an agreement with Times of India to take over all editorial operations of Sakshi. However, now with the victory of YSRCP, everything changed and this victory resurrects Sakshi media. Now, after the results, Sakshi has already hiked the price of the ads. Moreover, as Jagan is CM, it is expected that most of the government ads will go to Sakshi paper even though Sakshi is not in the first place. That’s what happened with TS government as most of the ads were given to KCR’s own media houses and the petition filed with vigilance commission and ED regarding the same.
So, YSRCP’s victory seems to have infused new lease of life to Sakshi media.
