Yupp TV, which is a major player in OTP market, is known for its aggressive marketing strategies. Earlier this week, Telugu360 broke the news that Yupp has acquired Reliable IPTV and is now the only major IPTV provider in North America.
As per our sources, the latest we hear is that Yupp is planning to rope in Tollywood Superstar Mahesh Babu and Kollywood Superstar Suriya as brand ambassadors. This is the second endorsement for Mahesh Babu this week. Earlier this week, there were reports that Mahesh Babu is going to promote Abhibus, a reputed bus-ticketing portal.
Tamil actor Suriya has invested in a Chennai-based online portal Herotalkies.com, which offers legal, online streaming of Tamil movies. Herotalkies is in direct competition with YuppFlix and as per sources that has been the bone of contention in negotiations with Suriya. “Talks to rope in Mahesh and Suriya have been going on for a while. This announcement should have happened a month earlier. However, Suriya has some conflicts with this current business investments and so there was delay in getting him sign the dotted line” says a source on condition of anonymity.
