The names of Telangana Congress leader Shabbir Ali and YSR Congress Party leader Botsa Satyanarayana figured in the charge sheet filed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a Prevention of Money-Laundering Act (PMLA) case against Meat exporter Moin Qureshi. Pradeep Koneru and Satish Sana apparently paid around 7.5crores to Qureshi who assured to help them in respective CBI cases by quoting the former CBI directors Ranjit Sinha and A P Singh as his associates.
Pradeep’s Account
Pradeep who is son of Koneru Prasad, a close associate to Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, wanted to free his father from the CBI cases. Soon Koneru realised that Quershi was not helping him while the latter continued to extort money. Koneru allegedly paid around Rs 5.75crores to the meat exporter. While these dealings were happening, Koneru was once accompanied by Botsa and twice by Shabbir. While Shabbir has denied involvement, Botsa is yet to respond on the issue.
Satish Sana
Satish Sana of the VANPIC Group of Companies allegedly paid 1.75crores to Quershi. It may be recalled Nimmagada Prasad of the VANPIC projects is accused of quid-pro-quo investments into Jagan’s companies for secure lands.
